Check out the great screen shots at Thus I Have Spoken.

Blognomicon (note his new digs and bookmark/blogroll accordingly) and Captain of a Crew of One also have new posts.

Keep 'em coming. The next gallery may be Tuesday, because I have a 3-day weekend...

Jeanine Pirro--The Gun Owners' Best Friend

Seeking to dispel the notion that her liberal views on abortion, gay rights and gun control might make her not to their liking, state attorney general candidate Jeanine Pirro told the state Conservative Party leadership on Monday that when it comes to guns, she knows a bit about lock and load.

Republican Pirro, the former Westchester County district attorney, said her main goal has been to keep illegal guns out of circulation, not curtail legal gun ownership...

"And, by the way, I have a .22, a .38 and a Mauser," she added, eliciting a big round of applause from the Conservative Party leaders.
Yay Jeanine
She's our gal
We don't have a better pal!

That must be why she joined in the New Yorkers Against Violence Columbine Blood Dance to demand "renewal and strengthening of the federal assault weapons ban."

That must be why she launched a “gun amnesty/buyback” program—“no questions asked,” naturally, “to get illegal and unwanted weapons off the streets.”

Clap, Conservative Party "leaders," for this hypocritical enemy of liberty who didn't need to care about the ability of New Yorkers to defend themselves. After all, she had a taxpayer-funded bodyguard who made more than $87,000 in overtime in addition to his $101,000-plus salary.

Let the Republican leadership (you know--the guys always hitting gun owners up for campaign contributions) spin for you what a great pal she is--or at least cow you into continuing to eat whatever crap they shovel on your tray. Because they owe her one for dropping out of the Senate race against Hillary and it's payback time. Forget that New York gun owners are the ones who will make the actual payment if this citizen disarmament zealot assumes the highest law enforcement position in the state.

Hey, it's fundraising time. That means it's time to obfuscate the record and whore for cash. Besides, who else are the frightened gun rubes gonna vote for?

Yeah, Jeanine knows a bit about lock and load--give her authority and defy one of her gun control edicts and she'll lock you up. Everything else she--and her "conservative" backers are telling you about her affinity for gun rights--is a load of BS.

Because God forbid that boot on your throat has a "D" on it...

UPDATE: I was so taken aback by the gall of this fraud trying to pass herself off as a candidate worthy of gun owner support that I may have missed the real story, which just struck me. In my earlier post about her run against Hillary, it was noted her husband is a convicted felon.

"I have a .22, a .38 and a Mauser." Jeanine announces to thunderous approval.

Where do you keep 'em, Jeanine? Under the same roof as hubby?

Can any felon in New York live with a gun-owning wife? There's no violation of gun laws going on here, is there?

I don't have time to research this right now...I'll look into it later tonight.

It's a Good Thing...

State Rep. Clel Baudler, a retired state trooper, said he was forced to draw his gun during a confrontation with a man who threatened his life.
It's a good thing he's a lawmaker and a retired cop.

Because, as the Brady Campaign explains about Iowa gun laws, "Police have discretion" to issue a permit--which presumably means they also have discretion not to.

So if Rep. Baudler (NRA A+ rated, by the way, so no beef there) had been a "regular citizen" whose police discretion result came up negative, he could have been hurt or worse...
