We're the Only Ones Defending Our Families Enough

Police say an off-duty officer has shot and killed an armed man who grabbed the officer's wife and their 3-year-old daughter in a Bronx elevator.
Very good.

Now how about the rest of us?

Can we protect our loved ones, too?

Or, when in the Bronx, is that a privilege reserved for "Only Ones"?

A Transforming Experience

AIRPORT guards stopped a man boarding a plane — for wearing a Transformers T-shirt showing a cartoon gun.
The robots aren't in disguise anymore.

It's just beyond nuts.

Evidently--or Not

Los Angeles County prosecutors won't file felony charges against actor Dennis Farina for having a gun in his luggage at an airport earlier this month.
I wonder if they found me with a handgun at LAX and determined it was not registered with the state of California if they'd figure "there wasn't enough evidence"? Particularly if I was taking it with me to handgun-free Chicago.

I know there would be no evidence that I was a former "Only One," and also no evidence that any Hollywood movers and shakers with access and influence would be pulling for me...

And they haven't decided whether to file misdemeanor charges yet? And LA prosecutors notwithstanding, we're to believe no federal charges are applicable?

Gosh, I'd hate to think there might be two sets of standards in this country.

Well, OK Then

If all it took was closing a couple of shooting ranges to stop gun-toting Yanks from coming to our city, maybe we should have shut the doors on these clubs years ago.

But you're not getting any of our Internet dollars, either.

Angie Get Your Gun

HEAVILY pregnant Angelina Jolie has revealed she and partner Brad Pitt keep guns in their new French home to protect their growing family.
Huh.

I wonder how UN Goodwill Ambassador Angie squares that with this...?

Bringing a Knife to an Anti-Gun Fight

The grandson of a prominent anti-gun campaigner has been arrested after she was found stabbed to death at a flat in West Yorkshire.

Looks like:
A. People should focus on their families, and
B. She picked the wrong tool.

If you weren't around this weekend, you missed another incident.

I'm fed up with this moron, so I'm going to share some other stuff I've found because I believe in exposing roaches to the light.

From KABA:
This is so much like this I can't help but wonder if they were composed by the same creature.

Another KABA comment:

That he continues to pollute pro-RKBA sites makes me wonder if he's truly just a lone nutcase or if he has a handler.

Bill Daly, Former FBI Investigator

His arguments in a nutshell: The answer is not more guns, the "Only Ones" are the only ones because they are so highly trained, and armed non-"Only Ones" will confuse these highly trained "Only Ones." Also, all young people are a bunch of irresponsible drunks.

Or some such foolishness.

It figures.

The guy is now a honcho with Control Risks Group, a well-connected global private security operation with a vested financial interest in propagating the mindset that only trained professionals are competent to protect.

We're the Only Ones Waking Them Up Enough

Though the deception left some teens temporarily confused and angry, if it makes even one student think twice before getting behind the wheel of a car while intoxicated, it is worth the price, said California Highway Patrol Officer Eric Newbury, who orchestrates the program at local high schools.

“When someone says to me, 'Oh, my God, you're traumatizing my children,' I'm telling them, 'No, what I'm doing is waking them up,' ” said Newbury, whose father was killed by a drunken driver.
Government's function is to secure the blessings of liberty, not wake anyone up, and certainly not lie to citizens to achieve its objectives. But good job teaching young citizens to never trust authority figures, Eric, particularly "Only Ones." The biggest lesson here is the ends justify the means, and if cops can lie to get what they want, why shouldn't we be able to?

It's like stupid DARE programs--most kids would never think to "huff" household chemicals unless some adult moron who can't grasp the concept of unintended consequences put the idea in their head.

I would bet there are no peer-reviewed validating statistics to prove that students who are subjected to the "Every 15 Minutes" LIE modify their behaviors, particularly a year, two or three into the future.

But because the cause is deemed so "worthwhile," and because there is no shortage of victims and survivor family members to exploit the sympathy of the herd, the charade continues. Just like with the gun issue.

This Day in History: June 2

We are now compelled to raise an Army, which with the assistance of the other colonies, we hope under the smiles of heaven, will be able to defend us and all America from the further butcheries and devastations of our implacable enemies. But as the sword should in all free states be subservient to the civil powers and as it is the duty of the Magistrates to support it for the peoples necessary defence, we tremble at having an army (although consisting of our countrymen) established here without a civil power to provide for and controul them.
